The events of the film completely and completely develops around the same establishment of a dubious reputation. This is what at one time repelled me from watching this marvelous thing, regardless of all flattering reviews. Well, really, what could be wonderful in the film about “Bordel” and “whores”? Fascinated by him and falling in love. Lip, by the way, the guy was not a fool, he fell in love with the main star of the institution – a beautiful satin. On which a rich and influential graph has already put his eyes on. This film shows how two worlds come across, completely different and alien to each other, with their views on life. By chance, they fly into each other, like a titanic on an iceberg, with a rattle and spray, breaking the usual foundations and lumbering into their world.

And no, there is no intrigue here. From the very first minutes, they tell you in direct text how it will end, but after five minutes you forget about it completely, because this is happening on the screen! And, of course, I would like to note the visual component. There are simply no words here! The film absolutely deservedly grabbed two Oscar figurines for costumes and scenery. People tried to glory. You can admire every frame! And in many ways also because the angles are chosen amazing. With the camera, people worked loving and inspired. Here, however, we worked with everything in general, but we are now purely about the graphone, so we continue. All these large shots, their fast shift, dynamics, accents, light special effects, landscapes, numerous, but appropriate little things create simply a magical, bewitching picture. There is nothing to talk about the game of actors. In visual terms, the film is not just pleasing to the eye, it leads to ecstasy, capturing, dragging and immersing you entirely in this extravaganza of colors and feelings. He perfectly conveys emotional intensity. And not only with music, but also the richness of flowers, weather, lighting, shadows – literally to everyone. Reigning atmosphere. And if at first everything goes easily and joyfully, cheerfully and airy, and humor, it is worth noting that it is also magnificent, then gradually, the tension increases, recalling that we are by no means a fervent comedy. The film makes the main characters empathize, want them to end well. It is hopeless to want. And all this is shot so that it is simply impossible not to let the mean tears, and behind it is a couple in the finale. Although, it would seem, initially everything is clear, no surprises, no unexpected turns, no piano in the bushes and no aunts in the sleeves, but no, still touches and squeezes the heart, playing on emotions.
