Pizza Ovens Ooni Pizza Ovens Ooni UK
Overall, this is one of the best gas pizza ovens on the market. It’s easy to set up, super simple to use and produces excellent results. It’s stainless steel and has a large viewing window with a light, so you can see your pizza cooking away (and more importantly, whip it out if it needs turning). The oven is pretty lightweight when the pizza stone isn’t in it, and there are handles on either side, so if you need to store it away, it’s easy to move around. It is on the large side, though, so if you are planning on keeping it on your counter, you will need a decent amount of room.
Setting up the pizza oven was really easy, nothing had to be assembled and just a couple of parts needed popping in place, such as the grill at the front. Even the gas connection was perfect, it had a fitting that just slotted onto the back so there was no wrestling with the gas tube like some other models. I found the build quality exceptional, and it feels solid and durable.
Note that wood-fired pizza ovens can take longer to reach cooking temperature, and maintain it – as the flame is managed by adding wood and adjusting airflow. Unsurprisingly, wood fires can be smoky, so a pizza oven can only be used in a well-ventilated area, far from your neighbours. Wood fires are messier, too, as you’ll need to dispose of the ash once cooled and deep-clean the oven occasionally. Meanwhile if you’re on a budget, the Casa Mio bravo is an decent, affordable outdoor option that’s easy to use and doesn’t have a large footprint. For indoors and those to new to at-home pizza making, the Cooks Professional electric pizza oven is a great entry level choice. You do need to rotate the pizza because it has no door, so the majority of the heat is at the back of the pizza oven.
Gozney Arc Lite
- Outdoor pizza ovens are now far easier to use, with manufacturers making them simpler to light, cook in, and clean up afterwards.
- It held the heat effectively too, so if you want to cook back-to-back pizzas there’s no waiting around.
- Our pizza ovens test programme was updated in 2026, so scores and star ratings for models tested before then cannot be directly compared with our latest test results.
- And probably the most important step to using any pizza oven is not to worry if it doesn’t go to plan.
- The brand claims you can cook pizzas in as little as three minutes, but I found it took just under 10 minutes to cook an 11in pizza during testing.
If your budget doesn’t stretch to the big-name brands, ProCook’s pizza oven is a good gas-powered option. Affordable, easily controllable and relatively simple to store as a result of its fold-up legs, it gets all the basics right. You’ll have to do so constantly for an even cook – but it’s a low-tech solution to prevent burning.
Heat-up times were recorded, too, although since testing took place in March, times will be shorter when cooking in warmer months. For those who don’t have access to outdoor space, I also tested the Ooni Volt 2 indoor model. After enjoying gas and wood-fired pizza ovens, I wasn’t expecting much from the Ninja artisan electric pizza oven. This pizza oven has four pre-programmed pizza settings, including artisan, thin crust, New York, pan and custom.

If you’re limited on outdoor space, the Ooni volt 2 is the best indoor pizza oven I’ve tried. It cooks pizza in just 90 seconds and has a handy boost function for a perfectly melted top and evenly cooked base. wood fired pizza The George Foreman multi-fuel pizza oven is a great option if you want to flip between traditional wood-fired pizza and the convenience of gas.
It took little while to heat up, certainly a lot longer than the gas version, but the results were so impressive. After reaching 500C, my pizza cooked in just over a minute. It had a slightly smoky finish and leopard-spot crust, the kind of pizza you’d get in Italy.
The funny thing about testing pizza ovens is that baking the pizza is the fastest part of the process. And for some of the ovens on test, I found it wasn’t a single-person task. The Gozney Dome, for example, recommends four people to get the 62kg oven on to its stand. I roped in my partner, and we managed it between us, carefully.
